Run the complete SizeFold workflow

The complete cycle

1. Put a batch of images in the Input folder.
2. Review the thumbnails and processed preview.
3. Confirm the enabled output configs and optional model name.
4. Run the workflow once to create every enabled result.
5. After all required results for a source succeed, SizeFold archives that original image.
6. Add the next batch to the same Input folder and reuse the saved workflow.

A supported image remaining at the top level of the Input folder is still pending. A source that fails stays there for retry.

What belongs to the batch

SizeFold reads supported image files directly inside the selected Input folder. It does not recursively process subfolders. Originals, Processed, and To Delete therefore remain outside the pending batch.

Choose the Input folder

Click Choose in the browser area and select the folder that receives each new batch. SizeFold remembers the folder permission and restores it when the app opens again.

Choose where original images are archived

By default, successful originals move to Input/Originals. You can choose another local or external folder. The archive cannot be the Input folder or an output folder.

Choose each config's output folder

Each config can use its own destination. Without a custom destination, SizeFold writes to Input/Processed; when several configs share that location, their config names separate the results.

Refresh the Input folder

While SizeFold is open, changes in the Input folder refresh the pending list automatically. Use Scan for new or Command-R when you want to request another scan explicitly. Refreshing never starts processing.

Browse and compare

Select a thumbnail with the mouse or use the Left and Right Arrow keys. Switch between Original and Processed. While viewing Processed, press and hold the large preview to see the untouched source, then release to return.

Read dimensions and EXIF

The preview header shows image dimensions and any available capture information: date, camera, lens, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Missing fields are omitted rather than guessed from the file modification date.

Move an unwanted image to To Delete

Press Command-D or use the thumbnail shortcut menu. SizeFold moves the selected source to Input/To Delete and removes it from the current batch. The file is not permanently deleted, and an existing file with the same name is never replaced.

Enable the versions needed for this run

Every enabled config keeps its own crop, dimensions, color adjustments, JPEG quality, filename rule, and output folder. One run creates all enabled results directly from the original source.

Rename a config

Double-click the config name, edit it in place, and press Return or click elsewhere to finish. A config name can also be used as a filename field and as the default output subfolder name.

Copy processing settings from another config

Right-click the config that should receive the settings, then choose the source config. Crop and image adjustments are copied; the target config keeps its name, naming rule, output folder, and enabled state.

Choose the crop ratio

Choose 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, or 3:4, or enter a custom width-to-height ratio such as 5:4, 3:2, or 1.91:1.

Choose Crop only or Crop & resize

Crop only keeps the retained crop's real pixel dimensions. Crop & resize resizes that crop to a target long edge, short edge, width, or height. Both modes crop directly from the original image rather than from a smaller intermediate preview.

Set one crop center for the session

Click Choose beside Crop center, then click the representative point in the preview. Every enabled config calculates its own crop around that point. Use Reset to return to the image center. The center resets whenever SizeFold starts.

Correct a batch's output direction

Each rotation action turns processed results clockwise by 90 degrees. The setting applies to the processed preview and final outputs, not to the original file. Reset returns the session to 0 degrees, and reopening the app also resets it.

Adjust light and color

Each config stores exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, temperature, tint, saturation, sharpness, and RGB channel compensation. Use the slider for larger changes and the minus or plus button for precise steps. Reset is available for each group.

Keep the original name or use a sequence

A config can preserve the source name or create a numbered series. Numbering checks the destination and continues from the next available value. Failed sources do not consume a number, and existing files are never overwritten.

Build a custom filename

Combine original filename, model, config name, processing date, output size, and an optional number. Clicking Number inserts ##. Each # represents one digit, so #### produces four-digit numbers. A rule must contain the original filename or a number so images in the same batch remain distinguishable.

Enter one model for the current batch

The model field is normally optional and resets when the app starts. It becomes required only when an enabled config's filename or folder rule uses the model. Pressing Return in the model field finishes editing; it does not run the workflow.

Organize a config by model

Enable Organize by model to create the current model first, then place each config inside that model folder. Default output becomes Processed/Model/Config name/filename; a custom output becomes Custom output/Model/Config name/filename.

Run the workflow

Click the prominent Run workflow button at the far right of the bottom status bar, or press Return when focus is not inside an editing field. Before writing files, SizeFold checks the enabled configs, required model, naming rules, folder access, and conflicting destinations.

Archive only after every required output succeeds

An original image moves to the archive only after all enabled configs produce their results. If any output or archive step fails, incomplete files from that attempt are cleaned up and the original remains in the Input folder for retry.

Review a failure

After a failed run, open View failures beside the status message in the bottom status bar to see the affected files and reasons, or copy the report. Correct the folder, permission, naming, or source-file problem, then run the remaining batch again.

Undo a recent successful batch

Undo batch remains the shortcut for the latest successful batch. Use the history icon immediately to its left to open up to 10 successful batches that have not already been undone, inspect the model, time, source count, output count, and configs, then choose a specific batch. A successful undo removes that record immediately. If an original or output was moved, modified, or conflicts with a current file, SizeFold stops before changing anything and keeps the record available for retry. An eligible trial batch also restores the allowance it consumed.

Mark, copy, or export a preview

Annotate the Original or Processed preview with arrows, text, rectangles, ellipses, drawing, or highlights. You can move, edit, delete, undo, redo, copy, or export the marked preview. Annotations last only for the current app session and never enter the original or normal batch output.

Color profile and metadata

Final JPEGs embed an sRGB ICC profile. Keep EXIF is enabled by default per config and preserves available capture, author, and copyright information. GPS location is always removed. Output dimensions and orientation describe the processed file rather than copying stale source values.

Trial and purchase

SizeFold includes 200 successfully processed original images. Undoing an eligible trial batch returns the allowance used by that run. Previewing and failed processing do not consume the allowance. Unlimited use is a one-time Mac App Store unlock with Restore Purchase support; there is no subscription.

Local processing and privacy

Crop, color, resize, and file output happen locally with native macOS frameworks. SizeFold has no photo-cloud account, analytics SDK, advertising, or AI-credit system. It accesses only folders you choose. Store purchases are handled by Apple.

No images appear

Confirm the files are supported images directly inside the selected Input folder. Use Scan for new or Command-R. If the folder moved or macOS access changed, choose it again.

An image stays loading or cannot be previewed

The file may still be copying or writing. Wait for the source application to finish, then rescan. SizeFold rejects incomplete image data instead of treating a partial file as ready, then retries after the file changes. Version 1.4 also keeps arrow keys in text fields while you edit settings.

The workflow cannot run

Read the validation message. Common causes are an enabled rule that requires an empty model, a custom filename without an original-name or number field, a missing folder permission, or an output/archive destination conflict.

A source remains after processing

This means at least one required output or its archive step did not complete. The original is intentionally kept in the Input folder. Open the failure details, fix the reported cause, and run the pending images again.
