Tethered product photography guide

Use the tethered capture folder as the SizeFold input

Tethering already writes every photo to a fixed location on the Mac. Select that directory in SizeFold and the captured files become the batch.

Tethered capture folder continuing into a SizeFold workflow on Mac

1 · Before shooting

Keep one setup in one capture folder

Prepare the camera, lighting, and product position, then choose a folder for this job.

Fix the capture conditions

Set the lighting, background, camera, lens, focus method, and product position for the batch.

Choose a clear capture directory

Configure the tethering application to write this job into a known folder, separate from unrelated shoots.

Decide where the batch ends

Finish one product, colorway, or setup before running the directory. Mixing setups makes the saved crop and color settings less useful.

2 · Open the batch

Select the capture folder in SizeFold

Supported images at the folder's top level appear together. There is no second import.

Choose the tethering output folder

Grant SizeFold access to the directory the capture application already uses.

Review the batch

Move through the thumbnails and compare processed previews with the originals. Check that the saved settings fit this shoot.

Run when the batch is ready

Start processing when the current setup is finished. SizeFold applies the enabled crop, color, size, naming, and output recipes.

3 · Finish the job

Send products out and keep failures visible

Finished JPEGs go to their configured folders. Successful originals move to the archive, while a failed source stays in the input folder for retry.

Capture

New photos arrive from the tethering application.

Process

Every supported top-level image receives the enabled recipes.

Deliver

Finished products go to their configured output folders.

Archive

Successful originals move after all outputs exist. Failures remain for retry.

Current version: use Scan for New or ⌘R to refresh photos added while SizeFold is open. Automatic directory refresh is developed for the next update; processing still begins when the operator runs the batch.
